Saturday

Saturday was an intense day, we had a great great workshop of Elenore and Samara, evaluation, farewell party and some other things. We also finally got to know our secret friends! Adam was mine and he was great! I got chocolate and a nice note!

I also made a movie with pictures from the exchange, it was a fun and intense week and I learnt many things when it comes to organize a project and working in a group. And I met so many old and new nice people!

fredag 6 juli 2012

It's been a long week but in a good way actually, we have done a lot of things and activities, everything was either awesome or just good.
What you actually do here is making friends in a slowely way and it's not a samiliar way to others, and those friends are actually true friends, what i'm thinking of right now is how it's gonna be when they are gone, it's going to feel empty, really empty tho..
I wish all of them the best because they deserve it, and i don't have a lot to say so that's was all i had on mind. Iam going to read on in my workshop thing for tommorow and i hope it goes well, then i'm going to bed, so goodnight!

friday 6th july-a.k.a my birthday :)
today we had to be up and out by 10 am on the dot to make sure we had enough time to meet the scouts and make lunch.we had a bit of difficulty finding the place we were meant to meet the scouts and we had to go in 2 groups because of the lack of car space. originally their were 3 scouts, two boys and a girl who lead us into the forest but a second man joined us later. it was really amazing walking through the forests and being shown how many things were edible like tiny strawberry like fruits and blue berries which we picked. we walked about 1 hour ans 30 minutes to get to the campsite where we split into groups and cooked pasta using tangears, then i was chosen to start a fire since it was my birthday and we cooked bread on sticks which was really funny because people kept burning them.once we got back to the camp, one of the swedish girls decided to leave because she felt ill but we had a huge goodbye for her.

Salma's blog

So, today is the fifth day and it has been a hectic but relaxing week. The workshops have been good and the view has been amazing. Today has been the best day by far. Horse Riding and bat watching for the very first time. I had a grey-white horse who loved to eat every time we stopped and I felt like I was going to fall off. I showed him who's boss! ME! :D
But that experience was wonderful.
Bat watching however was totally different. Bats are interesting but hard to find, in the forest, in the dark. Walking in the forest in the midnight is pretty scary yet awesome because it's different. I just took this chance to embrace the moment of breathing in swedish clean air which is totally different to the polluted East London air that I inhale every day.
Overall, it's been a tiring yet fulfilling day and we got to celebrate Rhiannon's 18th birthday too...in the forest

Dua's day

Today is Wednesdsay our 4th day in sweden. Its been a fun filled day, with lots and lots of sunshine. This morning us girls had a great oppotunity to learn self defence outside in the woods. I enjoyed this alot, as i have never done this before. This afternoons Human rights workshop taught me alot.  It made me realise what people take for granted. Cooking dinner this evening while listening to our music and dancing like mad people was crazy fun.

Callum's day

Day 3:

First trip out to the capital city with a lot to look forward to at the same time eagerly anticipitating what is ahead of us.

Woke up this morning with a dull face thinking its gonna be 'one of those days' but with the leaders approaching me telling me 'are you ready for today' a glow glimmered in my eye and I woke up considering I was half a sleep for the majority of the morning.

We first visited the Custom House of Sweden were life did not seem to bad but once all was revealed there was a major change in atmosphere throughout the group. We visited a youth media centre where the young people told us that their area was not as bad as the media makes out - something we shared. Soon after the visit of the Media place we  visited a rights for women organisation (Kvinnors Natwerk)  where we where greeted by a traditional Swedish welcome and had food for our lunch. Layla the founder of the organisation gave us brief information of the rise to growth and what the organisation are doing today. We understood her points and reflected with great detail. It was great to hear her story!
After riding a bike around,  we rapidly approached the center of the city and was given the chance to buy souveners for our loved ones back home in London and with my dads birthday today I took good opportunity of it and purchased his birthday present.  It was nice to walk around Stockholm as we have been staying in a forest with a lake!

We came back to Solvik with a lot of energy well at least some of us Rhiannon Peace were drained and sharply fell asleep.

Currently in  our free time we are watching people dance and having a good time around the campfire :)

Whats tomorrow going to bring??

Intercultural evening

It was a nice intercultural evening with nice snacks from UK and the corners of the world. Each participant brought something from their (or their parents) home country. They also made a sketch.

The UK team got to ask questions about Sweden and then the Swedish group played this for them in form of theathre.
